OnePlus has officially introduced the OnePlus 15R, expanding its R-series lineup with a performance-focused smartphone aimed at power users and gamers. The device debuts as one of the first smartphones globally to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, bringing flagship-level speed and improved AI performance.
The OnePlus 15R features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with an adaptive 165Hz refresh rate, offering ultra-smooth scrolling and gaming visuals. This makes it one of the fastest displays currently available in its segment.
Under the hood, the smartphone is equipped with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring fast app launches and seamless multitasking. OnePlus has positioned the device as a high-performance alternative to premium flagship models.
Battery life is a major highlight of the OnePlus 15R. The phone packs a 7,400mAh battery, the largest ever in the OnePlus R-series, supported by 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging. According to OnePlus, the battery is designed to retain at least 80% health after four years of use.
In terms of cameras, the OnePlus 15R comes with a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor with OIS, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, users get a 32MP autofocus selfie camera, a notable upgrade compared to previous R-series models. However, the phone does not include a dedicated telephoto lens.
The device runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, delivering a clean software experience along with new AI-powered features. OnePlus has also focused heavily on durability, equipping the phone with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, offering strong resistance against dust and water.
With its combination of cutting-edge performance, a massive battery, and a high-refresh-rate display, the OnePlus 15R is positioned as a strong contender in the upper mid-range smartphone market. Pricing starts at approximately ₹47,999 in India, with availability through OnePlus’s official channels and major online retailers. /category/gadgets/
